Tension erupted inside the chamber of the Lagos State House of Assembly on Monday, as operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) clashed with legislative workers, creating a chaotic scene.
Eyewitnesses reported that the DSS officials, clad in black jackets and helmets, stormed the Assembly premises armed with weapons, leading to a confrontation at the chamber’s entrance.
The confrontation escalated into a struggle between the security operatives and the legislative workers, disrupting activities within the House.
The exact reason for the DSS intervention remains unclear, but the incident led to panic among lawmakers and staff, forcing some to flee the premises while others attempted to de-escalate the situation.
