By Ameenat Hamzat, Lagos, Nigeria
In a bid to offer relief to Nigerians during the Christmas and New Year celebrations, Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of petrol to N899.50 per liter.
The Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, made this known in a statement issued early on Thursday.
Recall that on November 24, The refinery, Africa’s first privately-owned oil refining facility, had previously cut the price to N970 per liter.
This recent reduction, per the statement, is aimed at easing transportation costs during the coming festive period, a time when Nigerians are often faced with a hike in travel expenses.
Chiejina further stated that individuals now have the opportunity to buy an additional liter of fuel on credit for every liter purchased in cash, provided they secure a bank guarantee from either Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.
“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per liter at our truck loading gantry or SPM.
“Furthermore, for every liter purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to buy another liter on credit, backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank,” Chiejina noted.
The refinery also appreciated Nigerians for their continued patronage and reaffirmed its commitment to supplying high-quality and environmentally friendly petroleum products at competitive prices.
