BREAKING: Malawi Queens Miss Medal Target, Finish Fourth at Africa Netball Cup 2024

By Smile Hamilton, Malawi
The Malawi National Netball Team, also known as the Queens, have fallen short of their medal target after finishing fourth at the Africa Netball Cup 2024 in Namibia. The team lost to Zimbabwe with a score of 48-42 in the final match, securing their fourth-place position.
This outcome is a disappointment for the Queens, who have a strong reputation in international netball competitions. The team is currently ranked sixth in the World Netball Rankings and has a history of impressive performances, including finishing fifth in the 2007 World Netball Championships.
The Queens have also had success in other competitions, such as the Fast5 Netball World Series, where they finished third in 2016. The team has been led by notable players, including Mwai Kumwenda, who has been a top goal scorer in several major tournaments.
Despite this setback, the Malawi Queens remain a force to be reckoned with internationally.
