NIGERIA: Delta State Governor’s Aide Criticises Pastor Tobi For Inviting Davido To His Birthday Celebration
By Utebor Paul, Nigeria
Delta State Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Ossai Ovie Success, has expressed his disappointment with Pastor Tobi Adegboyega for inviting popular musician David Adedeji Adeleke also known as Davido to his recent birthday party.
Success disclosed this on Instagram, calling the event “an embarrassment to the Gospel.”
Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, founder of the Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church, celebrated his birthday with a party where Davido performed, a decision Success argued was “inconsistent with pastoral values.”
The governor’s aide noted that he did not feel the presence of the Holy Spirit at the event, stating, “As a pastor, he should have invited Gospel musicians to minister to his guests and win souls for the kingdom of God.”
Success questioned Pastor Tobi’s commitment to his pastoral role, suggesting that his actions “lack the fruit of the Spirit.” He further urged the pastor to seek forgiveness from God, asserting that celebrating a birthday with secular performances is unsuitable for someone in the ministry.
Success concluded with a direct plea to Pastor Tobi to reconsider his alignment with pastoral values, expressing hope that he would prioritise Gospel-centred practices in future celebrations.
