Nigerian First Lady, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu has refuted circulating reports suggesting the First Lady was coordinating a joint national prayer.
Recall that reports were flying stating that Remi Tinubu and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, would lead a national prayer event.
The Senior Special Adviser on Media to Nigeria’s First Lady, Busola Kukoyi, on Saturday, dismissed the reports as “unfounded and misleading,” urging members of the public to disregard the information.
While affirming that the First Lady, a Christian and strong advocate of prayer, believes in the power of prayer for Nigeria, Kukoyi emphasised that prayer should be a voluntary act conducted with sincerity.
Kukoyi also noted that the First Lady views praying for Nigeria as a collective responsibility, transcending religious, political, and ethnic divides.
The public has been advised to verify any information concerning the First Lady or her office through official channels to prevent the spread of misinformation.
