MALAWI: Karonga Chitipa Cultural Heritage Festival Celebrates Unity And Diversity

The annual Karonga Chitipa Cultural Heritage Festival is underway at Mbande Hill in Karonga District, embracing the theme “Unity in Diversity, Respect, and Justice for All.”
The event has attracted large crowds from across the region, uniting the Karonga and Chitipa communities in a vibrant celebration of culture and heritage.
Speaker of the National Assembly, Catherine Gotani Hara, representing President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, and host Paramount Chief Kyungu, are among notable dignitaries attending.
Other prominent figures include Minister of Sports Uchizi Mkandawire, Senior Chiefs Kalonga and Mwilang’ombe, and Village Heads Mwenekamphyongo and Mwethelele.
This festival showcases the rich traditions and customs of northern communities, promoting respect, justice, and unity among diverse groups.
