Malawian Referee Godfrey Nkhakananga Appointed for 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier

Renowned Malawian referee, Godfrey Nkhakananga, has been appointed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to officiate the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match between Nigeria and Libya on October 11th at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria.
Nkhakananga, a physical education teacher at Chipoka Secondary School in Salima, will be joined by fellow Malawian referees Clemence Kanduku and Joseph Nyauti. Keabetswe Dintwa from Botswana will serve as the Fourth Official.
Ghana’s Munkaila Nassam Adam will act as Match Commissioner, while Niger’s Issaka Boubacar will serve as Referee Assessor. This appointment marks Nkhakananga’s second CAF and World Cup assignment this year.
In July, Nkhakananga was among the selected referees trained by COSAFA on the use of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology.
