KENYA: Fire Duale or Own His Remarks!’ Karua Dares Ruto in Explosive Tribal Politics Row
By Moses Punyuah, Nairobi
People’s Liberation Party leader Martha Karua has challenged President William Ruto to sack Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale over alleged tribal remarks, warning that failure to act would be seen as an endorsement of divisive politics.
Speaking in Embu County, Karua accused the President of remaining silent on statements she said threaten national cohesion.
“If President Ruto does not dismiss Duale, Kenyans will take it that he supports those remarks,” said Karua.
She also turned her guns on the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), accusing it of dragging its feet on hate speech cases.
“NCIC must stop appearing weak and take action against leaders spreading tribal venom,” she said.
Karua further urged security agencies to remain professional and resist being used to intimidate Kenyans during political activities.
