A 30-year-old All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency seat in Kaduna State, Mahmud Sadis Buba, popularly known as Abin Al-Ajabin Zazzau, has withdrawn from the 2027 House of Representatives race.
Buba announced his decision in a statement posted on his official Facebook page on Saturday, citing the need to strengthen unity within the APC.
In the statement titled “Re: Voluntary Withdrawal from the Race for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, House of Representatives,” he said the decision followed wide consultations with family, political associates, and party stakeholders, particularly due to ongoing reconciliation efforts in the party.
“This was not an easy decision. But it was hastened by the reconciliation efforts initiated by stakeholders and leaders of our party,” he said.
He urged his supporters to remain calm and throw their full weight behind whoever emerges as the party’s candidate, describing his withdrawal as a sacrifice for the overall interest and unity of the APC.
Buba also expressed gratitude to Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, and other party leaders for the opportunity to participate in the nomination process.
He had recently passed the APC screening exercise for the seat, where his youthful age of 30 generated significant public attention.
His withdrawal is seen as part of efforts to harmonise interests and present a united front within the APC in Kaduna State ahead of the 2027
general elections.
