United States President Donald Trump has announced that American forces, in collaboration with the Nigerian Armed Forces, have successfully eliminated Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, the second-in-command of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) globally.
Trump made the announcement on Saturday via his Truth Social platform, describing the operation as a meticulously planned mission based on credible intelligence.
According to the US President, al-Minuki was one of ISIS’s most active leaders, responsible for orchestrating attacks and supporting terrorist operations against both Americans and communities across Africa.
He had reportedly been hiding in Africa before the joint operation tracked and neutralized him.
“Tonight, at my direction, brave American forces and the Armed Forces of Nigeria flawlessly executed a meticulously planned and very complex mission to eliminate the most active terrorist in the world from the battlefield,” Trump stated.
He commended the Nigerian government and military for their partnership, noting that al-Minuki’s elimination represents a significant blow to ISIS operations worldwide and greatly diminishes the group’s presence on the African continent.
This joint US-Nigeria operation is seen as a major breakthrough in the global fight aga
inst terrorism.
