By Smile Hamilton
Renowned gospel hip hop musician Kelvin Gumbi, popularly known as KBG, has been selected to represent Malawi at the inaugural African Social Media Influencers Summit in Ethiopia.
The “I Am From Malawi” creator says he will attend not only as a performer but also as a voice for Malawian creatives working behind the scenes.
KBG said his focus will be on shifting the narrative from consumption to contribution, while mentoring young creators and learning how other African hubs are using digital policies to protect content.
The summit, scheduled for May 7 to 8, 2026, will be held at the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum in Addis Ababa. It is expected to bring together leading digital creators from across the continent to help reshape Africa’
s story.
