The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled members of its newly constituted National Working Committee (NWC) following its fourth elective national convention held in Abuja.
The development comes after party officials were returned through a consensus arrangement at the convention, which took place at Eagle Square and was attended by top party leaders and stakeholders.
Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda was returned as the National Chairman, while Sen. Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru also retained his position as National Secretary.
Other key appointments include Ali Bukar Dalori as Deputy National Chairman (North) and Dr. Benjamin Obi Nwoye as Deputy National Chairman (South).
The party also named Prof. AbdulKarim Abubakar Kana as Deputy National Secretary and Murtala Aliyu Kankia as National Legal Adviser.
Uguru Mathew Ofoke emerged as National Treasurer, while Amb. Haruna Ginsau was named National Financial Secretary. Muhammad Sulaiman Argungu was appointed National Organising Secretary.
Donatus Enyinnah Nwankpa was announced as National Welfare Secretary, while Felix Morka retained his position as National Publicity Secretary.
Sen. Abubakar Maikafi was named National Auditor, with Dr. Mary A. Idele as National Women Leader and Dayo Israel as National Youth Leader.Aare Durotolu Oyebode Bankole was appointed National Leader for Persons with Disabilities.
Other deputy and ex-officio positions were also filled across the six geopolitical zones, reflecting the party’s zoning arrangement.
The APC had earlier stated that it would maintain its existing zoning structure for the NWC positions, a decision that guided the emergence of the new leadership.
The convention, themed “Unity in Progress: Consolidating the Renewed Hope Agenda,” brought together thousands of delegates as the ruling party prepares for the 202
7 general elections.
