Ndindi Nyoro has called for greater opportunities for women to fully participate in Kenya’s economic development, saying empowering women professionals is key to sustainable national growth.
Speaking during the 11th Association of Women Accountants of Kenya (AWAK) Ladies Leadership and Accountability Conference 2026 in Mombasa, themed “Inspiring Women for Sustainable Transformation,” Nyoro urged women accountants to uphold integrity and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
“Women must be given equal opportunities to contribute to Kenya’s economic growth. Their leadership, professionalism and integrity are critical in strengthening institutions and driving sustainable transformation,” Nyoro said.
The legislator also challenged women in the accounting profession to cultivate strong partnerships and collaborative networks to support institutional development and expand professional influence.
“Partnerships are important in building strong institutions. By working together and supporting each other, women professionals can play a greater role in shaping the country’s economic future,”
