KENYA: President Ruto Reaffirms Kenya-GCA Partnership on Climate Action

President William Ruto has reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Global Centre on Adaptation (GCA) to advance climate action across Kenya and the African continent.
Speaking after meeting GCA Supervisory Board Chair and former Senegal President Macky Sall at State House, Nairobi, President Ruto said the collaboration prioritises resilient infrastructure, climate-smart agriculture, and sustainable water management.
“Our partnership with the Global Centre on Adaptation continues to strengthen Kenya and Africa’s climate action by prioritising resilient infrastructure, agriculture and water management,” said President Ruto.
The President noted that the establishment of the GCA Africa headquarters in Nairobi positions Kenya as a continental hub for climate adaptation, while unlocking financing for transformative projects through the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Programme.
“Through this partnership, we are mobilising critical financing to deliver practical and lasting solutions that build resilience and confront the harsh realities of climate change,” he added.
