NIGERIA: Woro Community To Receive Relief Materials From Red Cross Society.

In the spirit of giving hope to the hopeless villagers of Woro community in Kiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, after the deadly incident that claimed the lives of over 200 villagers last Tuesday, the Nigerian Red Cross Society, in collaboration with International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is conducting an assessment of the losses incurred and the needs of villagers.
Many households were affected, millions of properties were destroyed with lives lost and people missing. The community leader Umar Aliyu shares the harsh realities, describing how Woro, once bustling, now faces displacement and uncertainty.
The Red Cross team is on a mission to listen, assess, and provide relief with great desire to bring hope, forge connections and foster resilience among families.
Umar Aliyu says “We have lost so much, but with your help, we can have new begging.”
