Malawi Football Legends Crowned Legends Clash Champions After Beating Zambia on Penalties

Malawi Football Legends have been crowned champions of the Legends Clash after defeating their Zambian counterparts 6-5 in a tense penalty shootout at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
The highly entertaining encounter ended 2-2 after 90 minutes of regulation time, with both sides displaying quality, experience and flair that thrilled the fans.


The match started at a high tempo, as both teams created several chances and tested each other’s defenses. Zambia’s Clive Hachilensa won an early penalty, but his effort was brilliantly saved by Malawi goalkeeper Simplex Nthala.
Despite the early setback, Zambia went on to take the lead through a penalty converted by Isaac Chansa, before Jonas Sakuwaha extended their advantage with a well-taken header.
Malawi responded with determination, as Mapopa Msukwa pulled one back to keep the hosts in the contest. The equalizer came dramatically in added time when Jimmy Zakazaka struck a superb direct free-kick to make it 2-2.
The match was decided in a penalty shootout, where Simplex Nthala once again proved decisive by saving the final spot-kick, sealing a 6-5 victory and sparking celebrations among the Malawi legends and supporters.
