Lagos State is set to welcome its very first Foods and Culture Festival, Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa-Musawa.
Scheduled to take place on 16th and 17th December 2025 at the Cricket Pitch, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, the festival aims to celebrate Nigeria’s rich culinary and cultural heritage while driving economic growth and job creation.
Speaking ahead of the Lagos Detty December event on Tuesday, Minister Musawa highlighted the festival as a showcase of Nigeria’s creativity and talent.
She said: “This flagship event promises to be an unforgettable celebration of our nation’s cultural diversity and culinary excellence.”
Organized in collaboration with Irabor Creative Minds and the Ministry, the festival reflects the government’s commitment to leveraging art, culture, and tourism for national development and unity.
Minister Musawa also commended President Bola Tinubu for his visionary leadership and support for the arts and culture sector.
She emphasized Lagos as the ideal starting point for this annual cultural initiative, noting its status as a hub of creativity and innovation.
“So when you talk about Detty December, you’re talking about Lagos. We may be starting in Lagos, but the vision is to celebrate Nigeria as a whole, culturally promoting our creative economy from the heart of innovation she emphasised.”
