Kenyan President William Ruto, on Sunday, hosted Malaysia’s Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim for a dinner at State House Nairobi, where the two leaders reflected on Malaysia’s transformation from a struggling economy to a first-world nation.

President Ruto said Malaysia’s progress offers a powerful lesson for countries pursuing rapid development.
“Malaysia’s journey continues to inspire us and proves that discipline, focus, and bold leadership can transform a nation,” he noted.
Inspired by this model, the President reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to its KSh5 trillion development plan, which focuses on investing in people, expanding large-scale irrigation, and strengthening transport and energy infrastructure.
He added:
“This is a clear and practical path to help Kenya become a first-world economy that lifts our people from poverty and creates wealth for shared prosperity.”
The meeting underscored growing cooperation between Kenya and Malaysia on economic transformation and shared development priorities.
