A new film titled The Last Road Block, produced by filmmaker Never Matewere, is scheduled to be released online on the 22nd of next month.

The film, which tackles the growing issue of child trafficking to foreign countries, will be available on YouTube for public viewing. Matewere says the storyline reflects real challenges affecting many Malawian communities.
Matewere said the purpose of releasing the film online is to ensure that everyone has access to the content and to showcase the artistic talent Malawi has through this production. “We want people, both in Malawi and abroad, to appreciate the creativity and messages that our film industry can deliver,” he explained.

He produced the film under his company, Zomba Film Production, which previously created other movies such as Nachipanti, The Invisible Beast, and several others. Matewere emphasised that the company aims to produce films that spark conversation and bring social awareness.
He further encouraged Malawians to support local content creators, saying the growth of the film industry depends on viewers embracing and sharing homegrown productions.
Local film enthusiasts have already expressed excitement, saying the release will help put Malawian films on the international map due to its powerful storyline and production quality.
