KENYA: ODM Marks 20 Years in Mombasa, Confirms New Party Leadership

The ODM@20 celebrations have officially kicked off at the Mama Ngina Waterfront in Mombasa, with party leaders and supporters turning out in large numbers for an event held to celebrate 20 years since the formation of the party, and also in honour of the late party leader Raila Odinga.



During a Special Session of the National Goveprning Council, the party confirmed Siaya Senator Dr. Oburu Oginga as the new ODM Party Leader. He will be deputised by Mombasa Governor Abdulswammad Nassir, Kisii Governor Simba Arati, and Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi.
The party also confirmed Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga as National Chairperson.
Other officials affirmed include Hon. Otiende Amollo and Hon. John Ariko as Deputy National Chairpersons, Governor Ahmed Abdullahi as National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Ruth Odinga as Deputy Organizing Secretary, and Hon. Rozaah Buyu as Secretary for Politica
l Affairs.
