South Sudan’s 5th Vice President Rebecca Nyandeng Joins Mourners At Raila Odinga’s Funeral

Vice President Rebecca Nyandeng De Mabior represented H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit and the people of South Sudan at the State Funeral of the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, held at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.
In her remarks, she expressed gratitude to President Kiir for entrusting her with the important responsibility of honoring a prominent leader who was not only a beloved figure in Africa but also a dedicated friend to South Sudan and a close family ally.
The ceremony drew thousands of mourners who gathered for a deeply emotional farewell that featured music, chants, and poignant tributes. Vice President Nyandeng conveyed the solidarity of the South Sudanese people to Mama Ida Odinga, the Odinga family, and the Kenyan community at large, highlighting the enduring connections between their nations.
