NIGERIA: Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Hails Supporters, Groups After Office Reopening

The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has expressed profound gratitude to her constituents, civil society groups, and supporters nationwide following the reopening of her office at the Senate, describing it as “a renewed commitment of service with integrity and courage.”

In a message shared on Wednesday, the lawmaker thanked the people of her constituency, Kogi State, and Nigerians at large for their unwavering prayers and solidarity throughout what she termed “a long walk to justice.”
“This isn’t my victory alone, it’s ours to behold and celebrate,” she wrote.
Akpoti-Uduaghan singled out the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Womanifesto, and the Socio-Economic Rights & Accountability Project (SERAP), among several political parties and advocacy groups, for standing firm in demanding accountability and justice on her behalf.
She also paid tribute to her family, acknowledging the support of her husband, children, and “the many heroes who have become family in the cause of our pursuit for justice.”
The senator stressed that the collective sacrifices made in the struggle would pave the way for “a better and equitable country,” reaffirming her dedication to service under the guiding principles of “God, People, and Country.”
Akpoti-Uduaghan, known for her outspoken stance on good governance and accountability, has been at the centre of several legal and political battles since she emerged as senator.
Her latest remarks signal both relief and renewed determination to continue her legislative work in the Red Chamber.
