The Coronation Organising Committee for the installation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has announced major traffic diversions in the city ahead of the ceremony scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025, at Mapo Hall.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the security sub-committee under the general committee chaired by former CCII President, Chief Bayo Oyero, said: “The diversions are necessary due to the attendance of President Bola Tinubu, who has confirmed he will be present at the coronation.”
According to the advisory, road closures will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Friday. He further mentioned that: “The affected routes include Beere Junction inward Mapo Hall; Born Photo Junction inward Oja’ba; Idi-Arere Junction inward Oja’ba; and Itamerin Junction inward Mapo Hall,”
The committee designated three official parking areas to ease the movement of guests.
“These include the Ibadan North Local Government car park in front of the Immigration Office, Agodi; the football field beside Yemetu Police Station; and Liberty Stadium, Oke Ado,” it stated.
The advisory also announced transportation support for attendees as the statement stated that shuttle buses will be available to convey well-wishers with valid invitation cards from the designated parks to Mapo Hall.
Vendors were also advised to arrive at the venue between 6:00 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. before the commencement of the road closures.
