President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja on Tuesday, cutting short his working vacation in Europe.
The announcement was made on Monday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who said the President concluded his engagements earlier than scheduled and would resume official duties immediately upon arrival.
He wrote: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has concluded his work vacation ahead of schedule and will return to Abuja on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to resume official duties.”
Tinubu departed Nigeria on September 4 for France, where he was to spend part of his annual holiday before continuing to the United Kingdom. However, his itinerary was shortened following the early completion of planned meetings.
While in Paris, President Tinubu held a private luncheon with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. Both leaders reviewed key areas of bilateral cooperation and pledged to strengthen ties between Nigeria and France for mutual prosperity and global stability.
Tinubu’s early return is expected to shift national focus back to pressing issues of governance, particularly the economy, infrastructure development, and job creation.
