MALAWI: Police Arrest Three Men In Ntcheu For Illegal Fuel Possession

Police in Ntcheu District have arrested three men for being found in possession of motor vehicle fuel without proper documentation.

The suspects have been identified as 27-year-old Zawo Chiguma, 24-year-old Aubrey Andrea, and 21-year-old Gift Kayendela.
Ntcheu Police spokesperson, Jacob Khembo, confirmed the development in an interview with African Culture TV.
He said investigations revealed that the three were illegally selling fuel at Mphepozinai, Chitsulo, and Kasinje markets.
“Our officers found Chiguma with four drums of 200 litres each, totalling 800 litres of diesel, as well as three containers of 140 litres, making it 940 litres in total,” said Khembo.
He further explained that the suspects will soon appear in court to answer charges of being found in possession of motor vehicle fuel without proper documents.
Chiguma hails from Chitsulo Village under Traditional Authority Ganya, while Andrea comes from Chipindu Village under the same authority. Kayendela is from Magola Village under Traditional Authority Njolomole in Ntcheu District.
