A joint operation by the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) and the Malawi Police Service has resulted in the interception of a truck carrying a large quantity of Indian hemp, also known as Chamba.
The truck was intercepted at the Mchinji border post, which connects Malawi to Zambia.

The truck, with registration number CK 10467/MC 3011, was found to be carrying 200 bags of Indian hemp weighing 136 kilograms each.
Mpinganjira praised the collaboration between the MRA and the police, saying it was a significant success in the fight against drug trafficking and smuggling.
Malembo is expected to appear in court to face charges related to drug trafficking.
The MRA and the police have urged members of the public to report any suspicious activities to the authorities and have pledged to continue working together to combat drug trafficking and smuggling in Malawi.
