Rabi Mujung Emmanuel has officially taken office as the new governor of Central Equatoria, with his predecessor, Augustino Jadalla, pledging full support amid mounting security and governance challenges in the state.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Governor Mujung vowed to build on the foundations laid by previous administrations, prioritizing development, service delivery, unity, and social cohesion among the state’s diverse communities.
He called for dedication and commitment from all sectors of government, highlighting the urgent need to address the welfare of public servants.
“The success of our mission relies entirely on our collective effort, determination, and unwavering commitment to serve the public interest,” Mujung said. “This shared purpose must be our guiding star.”
Governor Mujung was appointed by President Salva Kiir on Monday, succeeding Augustino Jadalla, who promised a smooth transition and pledged his support to the new leadership.
Jadalla underscored the significant tasks that lie ahead, including strengthening security, improving service delivery, enhancing agriculture, building infrastructure, and fostering unity across Central Equatoria’s diverse communities.
“The tasks ahead are many,” Jadalla said. “But you have a strong executive, elite ministers, and capable advisors. They will support you and I, too, will offer all the help you need.”
