South Sudan Minister of Education Launches Digital Platform For Accessing Examination Results

By Debora Akur Chol, South Sudan
The Ministry of General Education and Instruction in South Sudan, has introduced a new digital platform that allows students to conveniently access their national primary and secondary school examination results directly on their mobile phones.
This innovative service was launched in collaboration with the telecommunications company, Digital Holdings Limited.
The platform will provide immediate access to results for national examination candidates as soon as they are released by the South Sudan National Examination Council.
Minister of General Education and Instruction and Chairperson of the National Examination Council, Awut Deng Acuil, praised Digital Holdings for their role in the project, highlighting that the platform would significantly reduce human errors in the results distribution process.
“We are gathered here today to mark the launch of an ICT solution that will enable our candidates to instantly access their examination results upon release,” said Acuil.
“This result-checking solution was developed in partnership with Digital Holdings Limited, and we are deeply grateful for their collaboration,” the minister added.
The Minister also shared that Digital Holdings is working on a candidate registration software, which is expected to further minimize human errors.
“This initiative will streamline the examination process and enhance the overall efficiency of our educational system,” Acuil continued, emphasizing: “We are hopeful that this project will help protect the integrity and reputation of our National Examination Council, and I urge all stakeholders to collaborate for successful outcomes.”
Furthermore, Minister Acuil reminded school administrators that charging students a fee for accessing examination results is a violation of the country’s education law.
“I do not want to hear of any school charging students fees for accessing their results.
“We already pay for the certificates, the examinations, and transportation; any additional fees for results are against the law,” the minister said further.
The Executive Vice President of Digital Holdings, Athiei De Chan Awuol, expressed confidence in the platform’s performance and assured that the service would function smoothly for all users.
“The input from our technical team and stakeholders has helped ensure that this platform works seamlessly,” said Awuol.
“I am confident that users will not experience any technical issues thanks to everyone’s contributions,” he added
