SOUTH SUDAN: Hussein Abdelbagi Graces The Opening Of Juba Economic Forum

His Excellency Hussein Abdelbagi Akol, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, officially opened the Juba Economic Forum the three days event organized by the Central Equatoria Business Union.
The forum is being held at the Bank of South Sudan under the theme “Commercial Agriculture: A Pathway to Economic Stability.”
The event brings together key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, including policymakers, agribusiness leaders, economists, and development partners.
Discussions were centered on the vital role of commercial agriculture in promoting sustainable economic growth, enhancing food security, and creating employment opportunities across South Sudan.
In his keynote address, Hon. Hussein Abdelbagi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transforming the agricultural sector from subsistence based practices to a commercially driven industry.
He emphasized that this transformation is essential to national development and a critical strategy for building resilience against economic shocks.
The forum is expected to generate actionable recommendations and promote stronger collaboration between government institutions and private enterprises, aiming to unlock South Sudan’s vast agricultural potential.
