The South Africa Police Services (SAPS), Sebokeng, has appreciated all efforts made by community members in finding a missing person, Lucky Daniel Mantsoe.
Mantsoe had been reported missing on 20th May 20th, 2024.
Sebokeng Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane, confirmed that the police are investigating the case as an inquest.
Officers from the Sebokeng SAPS, along with the Sedibeng K9 search and rescue team, responded to reports from community members who had seen a decomposed body next to a stream in a muddy area.
However, after two months of searching, his body was found in a state of decomposition next to a stream on the outskirts of Boitumelo,
on the 1st of August 2024, just days before his birthday.
Upon arrival, the police removed the body, which was later identified by a family member at the Sebokeng Government Mortuary, as that of the missing person, Mantsoe.
