Nollywood actor, Ibrahim Chatta, has revealed that he lost his first daughter due to his inability to pay for her hospital treatment at the time.
Chatta made this known in a recent video that surfaced online, originally shared by Abiola Orisile Events & Parties TV on YouTube.
In the footage, the actor recounted how he had no financial means to save the child and was forced to bury her in a wooden crate.
“My first child is not Malik. The first child I had died,” he said.
According to him, the incident occurred in Lagos. Despite trekking across several communities, including Ijora Badia, Orile, Lawanson, Shitta, and Makoko, to seek help, he was unable to raise the required amount.
“We buried her in a wooden crate of Coke,” he added.
Chatta, who now has three children, spoke about his close relationship with his only daughter, Awawu, who was named after his late mother.
“When I bought a diamond anklet for Awawu in Dubai, her mother was upset. I told her this is my only daughter. I had one before, but she died,” he said.
The actor expressed his love for all his children and his desire to have more.
“God gave me three children, but I want more.Awawu is very dear to me. There is nothing she wants that I won’t give her.”
However, the video has generated reactions from fans and the public, drawing attention to the challenges of access to healthcare and the personal struggles many entertainers face behind the scenes.
