Senegal Coach Confident Ahead of Malawi African Cup of Nations Clash
By Smile Hamilton, Malawi
Pape Thiaw, coach of the Senegal national team, has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to overcome Malawi in their Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier match at the Bingu National Stadium.
The match between Senegal and Malawi is scheduled to take place at the Bingu National Stadium, with Senegal looking to maintain their lead in the group and Malawi seeking to turn their fortunes around.
Speaking at a press conference in Lilongwe, Thiaw said, “Despite facing tough opponents, we are determined to win. Malawi is at the bottom of the group, and we will take advantage of that.”
Senegal is favoured to win, having already secured a top spot in the group.
Malawi, on the other hand, is yet to earn a point after three matches. Flames coach Patrick Mabedi is expected to address the media later today to discuss his team’s strategy and prospects.
