The Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) has made a significant donation of clinical equipment and supplies worth K25 million to Ekwendeni College of Health Sciences and Ekwendeni Mission Hospital.
This generous contribution aims to enhance the practical training of students and improve patient care at both institutions.
According to RBM Governor Wilson Banda, the central bank recognised the pressing needs in the health sector within the Livingstonia Synod, prompting their decision to provide support.
Banda emphasised that a thriving economy relies heavily on a well-supported health sector.
The donated equipment will not only benefit the college but also extend to communities accessing healthcare services at Ekwendeni Mission Hospital, as noted by Livingstonia Synod General Secretary Rev. William Tembo.
The handover ceremony was met with enthusiasm from students, staff, and leadership of the University of Livingstonia.
