Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen’s Future At Napoli Remains Uncertain Amidst Transfer Saga

Victor Osimhen’s future at Napoli is becoming increasingly complex, with emerging developments casting doubt on his anticipated move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Despite the fervent interest from the French giants, multiple factors could see the Nigerian striker remain in Italy for at least another season.
Throughout the summer, Osimhen has been linked with a move away from Napoli, with a €130 million release clause deterring potential suitors, particularly from the English Premier League.
PSG renewed their interest last week, sending Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, to Paris for negotiations.
Reports indicated that PSG were contemplating a player-plus-cash deal to secure the forward.
However, recent reports from Italy suggest Osimhen is reconsidering his future at Napoli, potentially staying to discuss his role with the club’s new coach, Antonio Conte.
This decision follows setbacks in PSG’s transfer plans, with the club prioritizing the replacement of Kylian Mbappe.
According to L’Equipe, PSG must offload either Gonçalo Ramos or Randal Kolo Muani before proceeding with the Osimhen deal. Both players have expressed reluctance to leave, causing the transfer talks to stall.
Journalist Loic Tanzi of L’Equipe reported that negotiations between PSG and Napoli have cooled, with Osimhen reportedly contemplating another season in Naples.
Despite Conte previously stating that Osimhen was not in his plans for the upcoming season, he has praised the striker’s attitude in pre-season training.
Napoli, on the other hand, still aim to sell Osimhen this summer. The funds from his transfer are crucial for signing Romelu Lukaku and finding Osimhen’s replacement.
