Nigerian Vice President Departs for Abidjan to Represent Nigeria at Energy Resources Conference

Nigerian Vice President Kashim Shettima on Wednesday departed Abuja for Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, to attend the opening ceremony of the International Exhibition of Extractive and Energy Resources (SIREXE) 2024.
The conference, organized by the Government of Côte d’Ivoire, will focus on “Policies and Strategy for the Sustainable Development of the Extractive and Energy Industries.”
It is scheduled to take place from November 27 to December 2, 2024, at the Abidjan Exhibition Centre.
Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President, confirmed the Vice President’s participation in a statement on Wednesday.
Nkwocha noted that Shettima’s visit was at the invitation of Côte d’Ivoire’s Vice President, Tiémoko Meyliet Koné.
During the event, Vice President Shettima will showcase Nigeria’s expertise and experiences in hydrocarbon exploration and production, highlighting the country’s efforts to sustain energy resource development.
The Vice President is expected to return to Abuja later on Wednesday after fulfilling his commitments at the opening ceremony.
The SIREXE conference is a global platform bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss strategies for the sustainable development of the extractive and energy sectors.
