The Police Service Commission has announced that physical and credential screening for applicants in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 constables into the Nigeria Police Force will commence nationwide on March 9, 2026.
According to a press statement issued on Tuesday, the screening exercise will run until April 18, 2026, across designated centres in all states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
The Commission directed candidates who successfully completed the online registration process to visit the official recruitment portal to confirm their application status and print required documents ahead of the exercise.
Applicants are expected to present several mandatory documents at the screening venue, including the guarantors’ form, application submission slip, invitation slip, credential screening form and physical screening form.
Other required items include an original National Identity Number printout or card, O’ Level certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, certificate of state or local government origin, and trade test certificates for specialist applicants.
The Commission also instructed candidates to package original and duplicate copies of their credentials in separate white flat files with recent passport photographs attached.
Participants are required to appear at their assigned screening centres dressed in white T-shirts, white shorts, white canvas shoes and white stockings, as indicated on their invitation slips.
Chairman of the Commission, Hashimu Salihu Argungu, emphasised that the recruitment process remains transparent and free for all applicants.
He said: “The recruitment exercise is absolutely free of charge and without any pecuniary obligation.”
Argungu assured applicants that the process would adhere strictly to established standards of fairness and accountability.
He further warned candidates against fraudulent individuals seeking to exploit the exercise.
“Anyone found wanting will be arrested and prosecuted,” the chairman added, urging applicants to remain vigilant against online impostors and scammers.
The Police Service Commission reiterated that screening would take place only at officially designated venues as indicated on candidat
es’ invitation printouts.
