The Nigerian Navy has announced the opening of its recruitment exercise into the Basic Training School Batch 38.
According to a statement signed by the Navy Secretary, the online registration will run from October 2 to October 31, 2025, and all applications are to be made free of charge through the official portal at [www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng](http://www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng). The Navy warned that multiple applications from the same individual will lead to automatic disqualification.
Applicants are required to be Nigerian citizens by birth and must possess a National Identification Number. They are also expected to meet minimum height requirements of 1.68 meters for males and 1.65 meters for females, and must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit.
Candidates with O’Level or SSCE certificates must be between 18 and 22 years of age as of December 31, 2025, while those with OND or NCE qualifications are required to be between 18 and 26 years.
Applicants for the positions of Chaplain or Imam Assistant as well as Drivers and Mechanics may apply up to the age of 28 years. All applicants must have a minimum of five credits including Mathematics and English Language in not more than two sittings, and the results must not be older than the specified years.
The Navy explained that tradesmen in fields such as tailoring, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, painting, and refrigeration and air conditioning must possess trade test certificates alongside their academic qualifications.
Those applying for roles related to medicine must hold a National Diploma from a recognized institution as well as a valid practicing license. Sportsmen and women are required to provide evidence of participation which may include medals and certificates.
Applicants are to complete the online application and print the required forms which include acknowledgement, parental consent, local government attestation, and guarantor certification.
The Navy emphasized that the entire recruitment process is free and cautioned candidates against making any payments to individuals posing as agents.
The recruitment examination will take place nationwide on November 29, 2025, at designated centres.
Successful candidates will proceed to undergo basic military training and upon completion will be enlisted into the Nigerian Navy as ordinary seamen.
