The Federal Government of Nigeria has reaffirmed its determination to deepen partnership with the Chinese Government in capacity building, provision of modern equipment and transfer of advanced road construction technology.
Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, gave the assurance while receiving a high-level delegation from China Gezhouba Group Company (CGGC) Global at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.
During the meeting, both sides explored concrete areas of collaboration including specialised training for Nigerian engineers, supply of state-of-the-art road maintenance equipment, transfer of cutting-edge construction methodologies for local adaptation, and strategies for long-term infrastructure sustainability.
Goronyo expressed strong confidence that the partnership will significantly accelerate Nigeria’s infrastructure development roadmap and align the country’s road network with global best standards.
On his part, CGGC Global Vice President, He Yonglun, restated the company’s readiness to support Nigeria’s ambitious infrastructure goals.
The engagement ended on a positive note with both parties agreeing to immediately constitute a joint technical committee that will evaluate the Ministry’s specific requests alongside CGGC’s proposals and develop a detailed framework for implementation.
