Nigerian Former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy Ohaneye, has expressed her heartfelt appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve in his administration.
Ohaneye’s removal from office follows a cabinet reshuffle by President Tinubu aimed at strengthening governance across various sectors of the administration.
She was appointed Minister of Women Affairs by Tinubu on August 21, 2023. However, for reasons unknown, her tenure was short-lived when she was relieved of her duties on October 24, 2023, barely two years in office.
Reacting to this in a statement shared on her official X (formerly Twitter) account, Ohaneye described her time in office as an honour and privilege, noting that she was proud to contribute to the nation’s development.
“I write to express my sincere gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It has been an honour and a privilege to contribute to the development of our Nation,” she said.
Ohaneye also extended her gratitude to the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her guidance and support throughout her tenure as Minister of Women Affairs. She acknowledged the First Lady’s kindness, stating that it played a crucial role in her success while in office.
“I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for her invaluable guidance and support during my tenure as Minister of Women Affairs. Her kindness and encouragement have been instrumental to my success,” she added.
The former minister did not fail to thank the Nigerian people, acknowledging their unwavering support and expressing how their trust inspired her throughout her time in public service.
“To the people of Nigeria, I am deeply grateful for your unwavering support. Your trust and confidence in me have been a constant source of inspiration,” she remarked.
Uju Kennedy Ohaneye reassured Nigerians of her continued commitment to serving the country, promising to contribute to its progress and prosperity in whatever capacity possible.
“I remain committed to serving my country and will continue to do my utmost to contribute to its progress and prosperity,” she concluded.
