The Nigerian Army troops of Operation Hadin Kai have eliminated eight Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists during a fierce gun battle in Manawaji, located in Gamboru Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State.
The Army disclosed this in a post on its official Facebook page on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the operation took place at about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2025.
The troops were on a joint fighting patrol with personnel from the Civilian Joint Task Force and Hybrid Forces when they encountered the insurgents.
The soldiers responded with superior firepower, successfully killing eight of the terrorists.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from both the dead and fleeing insurgents.
The Army confirmed that there were no casualties on the side of the troops, CJTF, or Hybrid Forces.
It added that while the security situation in the area remains calm, it is still fluid and is being closely monitored.
