The Niger Delta leader Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, and the Yoruba Aborigines Progressive Initiative (YAPI), a socio-cultural group, have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office.
Both parties cited Tinubu’s transformative policies and achievements as the foundation for their backing.
Tompolo, a prominent figure in the Niger Delta and Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, praised Tinubu’s leadership, describing him as a trailblazer who thrives under challenging circumstances.
He highlighted the administration’s success in combating crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism, which has boosted Nigeria’s crude oil production from 600,000 barrels per day to 1.8 million barrels per day.
Tompolo also commended Tinubu’s economic reforms, including doubling aggregate revenue to over ₦9.1 trillion and reducing debt servicing costs from 97% to 68%.
“We will join other progressive-minded leaders and the good people of the Niger Delta to preach your gospel of continuity beyond 2027,” Tompolo declared, emphasizing his unwavering support for Tinubu’s leadership.
Similarly, YAPI lauded Tinubu’s bold policy decisions, such as the removal of fuel subsidies, revitalization of refineries, and the Supreme Court ruling on local government autonomy.
Olushola John, YAPI’s chairman, pointed to initiatives like student loan facilities, reduced Customs duties on pharmaceuticals, and efforts to address rising food costs as evidence of Tinubu’s commitment to national progress.
Olatubosun Awonuga, YAPI’s spokesperson, reiterated the group’s dedication to justice, equity, and fairness, stating, “YAPI’s support is rooted in a desire to contribute to national progress. It is not out of place for us to express our support for the president.”
Both Tompolo and YAPI emphasized their belief in Tinubu’s vision for Nigeria, urging citizens to rally behind his leadership for another term.
Their endorsements reflect growing momentum for Tinubu’s continuity in office, as his administration continues to implement reforms aimed at sustainable development.
