President Bola Tinubu on Friday returned to Lagos after a three-nation official visit to France, Kenya, and Rwanda.
The President’s aircraft touched down at exactly 7:12 p.m. at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja.
He was received by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa, and other top government officials.
During the trip, President Tinubu engaged global investors in France, where he emphasised transparency and fiscal discipline while defending his administration’s economic reforms. In Kenya, he participated in the Africa Forward Summit co-hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, where he called for the reform of the global financial architecture and stronger economic integration in Africa. He also held a bilateral meeting with Madagascan President Michael Randrianirina.
In Kigali, Rwanda, the President attended the Africa CEO Forum, where he engaged with African leaders, investors, and chief executives. He also held talks with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and representatives of major firms including the International Finance Corporation and APM Terminals.
A statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described the outcomes of the meetings as “notable and favourable.”
The President is expected to participate in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries scheduled to begin on Saturday while in Lagos. He had earlier urged party members to conduct themselves peacefully durin
g the exercise.
