President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday departed Lagos for Europe, ahead of his participation in the 2026 edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026), scheduled to hold in January.
A statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the trip forms part of the President’s end-of-year break and preparations for the international sustainability summit in the United Arab Emirates.
According to the statement, President Tinubu will proceed from Europe to Abu Dhabi, where the summit is expected to take place between January 11 and January 17 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
The President was invited to the summit by the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is a global platform that convenes leaders from government, business, and civil society to advance discussions and actions on sustainable development. The 2026 edition of the summit will be held under the theme “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” with a focus on linking ambition to practical action across innovation, finance, and people, while showcasing pathways for countries and institutions to navigate a rapidly evolving global environment.
President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusio
