President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated former Vice President Namadi Sambo on his turbaning as the Sardaunan Zazzau, describing the traditional title as a recognition of his leadership, integrity, and service to the nation.
The ceremony, scheduled to hold on Saturday, will be performed by the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, in Zaria, Kaduna State.
In a message issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President said the honour bestowed on the former Vice President reflects the Zazzau Emirate’s confidence in his wisdom, humility, and commitment to national progress.
Tinubu noted that the Sardauna title carries deep cultural and historical significance in Northern Nigeria, adding that Sambo’s investiture further underscores his dedication to community service and national development.
The President also commended the Emir of Zazzau for upholding the age-long tradition of honouring individuals whose character and patriotism embody the Emirate’s values of unity, integrity, and service to humanity.
He urged the former Vice President to continue to inspire the younger generation and collaborate with traditional and community leaders in promoting peace and progress in Nigeria.
Namadi Sambo, who served as Nigeria’s Vice President from 2010 to 2015, hails from Kaduna State and has remained an influential voice in Northern Nigeria’s political and cultural landscape.
