NIGERIA: Tinubu Commemorates El-Rufai’s 65th Birthday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent his heartfelt birthday wishes to the former Kaduna State, Governor, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, for his 65th birthday, sending him accolades for his immense contributions to governance, democracy and national development.

This was contained in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday, Tinubu praised El-Rufai’s immense contributions to Nigeria’s governance, democracy, and national development.

The President hailed El-Rufai as a dedicated administrator, scholar, and politician whose brilliance and resourcefulness have impacted the nation. Tinubu acknowledged the significant roles El-Rufai played during his tenure as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from 2003 to 2007, where he spearheaded pivotal reforms and during his two terms as the Governor of Kaduna State.

In addition, the President highlighted El-Rufai’s instrumental role in the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his contributions to the party’s victories in the 2015, 2019, and 2023 elections.

The statement reads: “President Tinubu celebrates Mallam El-Rufai on this occasion and commends his relentless efforts towards strengthening democracy, his meritorious service to the nation, and his mentorship of younger generations.

The President further acknowledged El-Rufai’s leadership in shaping the political landscape and wished him continued health and strength for ongoing service to the nation.
