Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of new commissioners for the National Population Commission (NPC), the Federal Character Commission (FCC), and the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The appointment, which was confirmed in a statement made on Monday by the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen, took effect from February 3, 2025, and will span for an initial term of five years.
Among the appointees include; Kayode Oladele as the Federal Commissioner for the FCC, Mrs. Olukemi Victoria Iyantan will serve as a Commissioner in the NPC.
Additionally, 21 new federal commissioners have been appointed to the RMAFC, comprising both fresh and renewed appointments.
The newly appointed RMAFC commissioners include Linda Nkechi Oti (Abia), Akpan Imo Effiong (Akwa Ibom), and Enefe Ekene (Anambra).
Others receiving their first appointments are Steve Ugbah (Benue), Wumi Ogunlola (Ekiti), and Adamu Fanda (Kano).
Meanwhile, some commissioners had their tenures renewed, including Eyo Nsa Whiley (Cross River), Victor Eboigbe (Edo), and Olusegun Adekunle Wright (Lagos).
The statement emphasized that the appointments align with regulations governing political, public, and judicial officeholders.
President Tinubu urged the newly appointed commissioners to support their agencies in achieving the objectives of his Renewed Hope Agenda.
The statement reads: “The President urges the Federal Commissioners to give maximum support to their various Heads to achieve the vision and mission of their respective agencies in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
