NIGERIA: Theatre Commander Pays Tribute To Fallen Heroes In Operation HADIN KAI, Vows Sacrifices Will Not Be In Vain

The Theatre Commander of Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, has paid glowing tribute to gallant officers and soldiers who recently lost their lives in the line of duty while fighting insurgency in the North East.
The solemn ceremony took place at the Maimalari Military Cantonment Cemetery in Maiduguri, Borno State, where the fallen heroes were laid to rest.
Major General Abubakar described the occasion as a painful reminder of the true cost of military service.
He noted that while the profession of arms brings moments of victory filled with pride and affirms the courage and unity that define service, there are also solemn moments that weigh heavily on the heart and remind everyone of the supreme price paid for the nation’s security.
He assured the grieving families that the sacrifices of their loved ones would not be in vain and promised that all entitlements would be processed promptly.
The Theatre Commander extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, and the entire Armed Forces of Nigeria.
He reaffirmed the resolve of Operation HADIN KAI to continue the fight against terrorism until lasting peace is restored to the region.
The Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, represented by the Executive Secretary of the Borno State Security Trust Fund, Alhaji Mustapha Ali Yabe, also attended the funeral. He conveyed condolences to the Armed Forces of Nigeria and Operation HADIN KAI, describing the loss as a national tragedy.
The governor commended the troops for their gallantry, resilience, and unwavering commitment to safeguarding the state and its people.
Governor Zulum assured that the Borno State Government would continue to support the families of the fallen heroes and provide every necessary assistance to the military in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities.
