NIGERIA: Sanwolu To Host Biggest Countdown Event in Africa

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwolu is set to host the biggest countdown event in Africa tagged: The Greater Lagos Countdown 2025, tonight, and will continue into the early hours of January 1, 2025, welcoming the new year in grand style.
The event which is set to be held in five different locations in Lagos State – Ikorodu, Badagry, Ikeja, Lagos Island, and Epe, will feature performances from top African music stars such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Olamide, and Seyi Vibez.
According to the governor in a post on his official X handle, the event is not just a concert but an event to celebrate Lagos’ cultural heritage, unity, and the ‘indomitable Lagos Spirit.
In his statement, Sanwo said: “A celebration of Lagos’ vibrant culture, unity, and indomitable spirit.”
He encouraged everyone to join in the festivities, saying, “Let’s welcome 2025 the Lagos way – in grand style.”
The governor urged Lagosians and well-wishers to join the celebration and come and have a feel of the “night of music, cultural showcases, and unmatched Lagos energy” as the state celebrates the new year.
