NIGERIA:: Sanwo-Olu Slashes Blue Line Fare by 50% To Celebrate 2nd Anniversary

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced a 50% reduction in fares on the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line to mark its second anniversary.
The governor, in a statement on Wednesday, said the Blue Line had carried more than five million passengers safely in the last two years without a single accident.
He said: “Trains now run every ten minutes, making over 90 trips each day. Journeys that once took much longer have become faster and easier.”
Sanwo-Olu attributed the milestone to dedication and collective effort, assuring Lagosians that the project was evidence of the state’s commitment to building reliable infrastructure.
The governor urged residents to take advantage of the fare slash on Thursday, September 4, 2025, as part of the celebrations.
