Nigeria – Reno Omokri’s Estranged Wife Tuokpe Onuwaje Calls Him Out Over Domestic Abuse

Tuokpe Onuwaje, the estranged wife of Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has stated that no woman should ever tolerate abuse in a marriage, regardless of its frequency.

She made this statement via her Instagram account on Monday.

Onuwaje recounted her painful experiences, stating that despite attempts to excuse the violence in the name of preserving the family or for the sake of the children, such justifications are flawed.

She said: “After the initial instance of violence, which resulted in a swollen jaw and weeks of pain, I made excuses, thinking I had provoked the aggression. I also had to endure seeing my daughter witness further abuse.”

She also described a particularly harrowing incident when she woke up to find blood on her pillow due to a ruptured eardrum caused by Omokri. The abuse eventually led her to seek police intervention.

Onuwaje further criticized Omokri’s current relationship, suggesting that his new partner may be subject to similar control and intimidation.

“Now, you claim to be happily married to a woman who doesn’t ‘quarrel.’ Good luck to her, as it appears you have always sought someone you could control and intimidate,” she concluded.

Onuwaje’s accusations comes after Omokri posted on his social media account the picture of his new wife, while showering her with lots of praises.
